Sep 7th 2012, 16:59 I recently wrote up an Article for a marketing site (I'm allowed to post it elsewhere) about "On-Page SEO" that I thought can help some of the new guys floating around BHW get an idea of what proper on-page is. Also, this is all based off of my personal experience as an SEO provider, and was written for a target audience with no former SEO knowledge. Feel free to add any insight your have about optimizing a website via On-page work, people would appreciate all the knowledge you can spread. Here it is: Any time you’re faced with a question and you’re not able to find the answer, what do you do? That’s right, you Google it. You log onto this simple website that brings the infinite knowledge of the internet together for you in a neat, organized list of results. Most people don’t know, and don’t care to know how those results got there, and what differentiates the top results with results they’d see lower down the list. Well, each website is secretly given a rating by Google. The rating system is based off of algorithms that tells the search engine how qualified a website is to rank higher than other websites. There are many factors that come into place with how your website is ranked. The 2 parts to ranking a website consist of On-Page, and Off-page. Today I’ll be talking about On-Page: Your content: Google knows exactly what’s on your website. If it crawls your pages and finds that you’re providing a sufficient amount of unique content, it will give your website an authority boost. By unique content, I mean writing that has not been duplicated from any other place on the web. If you do decide to copy and paste your content from other sites, you will be tossed aside in the ranks. Also, be sure to have a sufficient amount of content. If your competitors have pages and pages of good content on their sites, and you’re trying to get by with two 500 word articles, you probably won’t pass them in the results. Keyword density: As you may or may not know, the stuff you type in the search bar on Google.com is called “keywords”. That works by matching whatever you type to websites with those words within the content enough times for it to be relevant. The amount of times a keyword is used on a website is called “Keyword density”. Before Google recent algorithm updates, it was possible for a website to just spam the keywords it wants to rank for all over the website, giving it a keyword density of 10%+, and that website would actually rank high. The problem Google saw with that is that websites looked very spammy and not useful to the visitor. This is why they rolled out with their Panda algorithm update, which targeted over-optimized websites and penalized them by ranking them lower. As of now, a safe keyword density is actually around 1-3%. Page title, description, H1 tags, Inter-linking: Title: When you search for something on Google, the links you see in the results are actually the Titles of those pages. Those were created by the website owners to make sure their websites look like what the users are searching for. It’s very important to include your main keywords in your title. For example, if your website is about recipes for Chicken Soup, your title should look like this: “Delicious Chicken Soup recipes. Easy to prepare!” As you can see, this title not only has the main keyword in it, but it also looks enticing to the users, giving your website a higher chance to be clicked on. A common mistake people make is putting their title tag in their website headers, which results in the same title for every page. This is something Search engines don’t like. Be sure to give each page its own title (even if it’s similar). Description: A web page’s description is the short summary you read under the link in the search engine results page (SERP). This gives the user an idea of what the website offers. It’s important to make sure your description is something that will make the user want to visit your site. It’s also important to include your keyword(s) in the description, but make it look natural and read well. Note: To write your own description, you have to refer to your “Meta tags” within your websites coding. H1 Tags (Headers): If you’re unfamiliar with the basics of HTML, this may be going over your head. An H1 tag is basically the header you make for your page, and is important because it tells the search engines what your page is about, so be sure to include your keyword here as well. Inter-Linking: Inter linking has gained popularity after the notorious Panda update that rolled out last year. This update targeted websites with over optimized, un-natural and spammy looking on-page. There have been several case studies that have shown that linking pages of your website within your website is something that the Panda algorithm labels a quality factor when rating your site. In conclusion, presenting a quality site to the internet is essential to gain the trust of search engines. Be sure to fill your pages up with high quality content that’s relevant to your keyword and niche. Don’t over optimize your site, as Google is smarter than you think! | Fresh proxy for Forum Sep 7th 2012, 16:53 i wanna create and post on forums i need fresh proxy which never updated on stopforumspam plz share some waiting | Tumblr API Sep 7th 2012, 16:52 Tumblr did shut down the API. Sep 7th 2012, 16:14 Hi all, I'm doing some work for a website and I've been given the task of ranking it for just one keyword.. I have good experience ranking sites so I have a plan laid out for how I'm going to do it. I just wanted to share this one with you guys as I haven't come across a competitor with a backlinking profile quite like this yet - the keyword seems highly competitive however one of the top competitors that I'm focusing on has a very small amount of backlinks but over 70% of them are high PR.. this is why I want your thoughts.. Here are the stats for the keyword and the site I'm trying to overtake: Keyword - 30k local searches, 300k global searches Competitor has the keyword in his domain name - my site does not. Both competitor site and my site have good quality substancial amounts of content on the niche including keyword frequently. Competitor Backlink Profile breakdown: Total backlinks (found using SEOSpyglass): ONLY 299! Backlink PR breakdown: PR5 - 13 PR4 - 16 PR3 - 66 PR2 - 29 PR1 - 24 Anchor Text: mostly the exact domain as the site which includes the keyword.. not much variation at all. Domain is registered is 2004. My site is registered in March this year. Low OBL on most backlink pages. Here's the marketing strategy I was going to do: First Tier Of Links: 100 Web2.0 properties with roughly 150-200 contextual backlinks 30 Press Release Submissions to high quality high PR PressRelease sites 30 Article Directory Submissions to high quality Article Directory Sites Social Bookmarking in top 30 social bookmarking sites 30 video submissions to top video sharing websites .txt file submission to top 30 file sharing/document websites 100 High PR Blog comments on pages with low OBL ********/nofollow mixture Social Marketing: Facebook - 50,000 likes/shares Twitter campaign - tweets and retweets Other special social site links Second Tier Links 1000 web2.0 contextual links 1000 wiki contextual links 1000 Forum profile backlinks Third Tier Links (these links go to the second tier): 10,000 wiki contextual links 5000 web2.0 contextual links Fourth Tier: 100,000 blog comments - to 1st 2nd and 3rd tiers 50,000 forum profile backlinks to third tier only ----------------------------------------------------- My sites backlinking profile so far: Total backlinks found: 1,499 PR breakdown: PR5 - 6 PR4 - 8 PR3 - 42 PR2 - 146 PR1 - 181 Lots of these links are from the same sites on different pages - they are all very relevant sites. A few of the PR 5 backllinks are from the wikipedia page that talks about this site - 100% legit. Social marketing is looking good too - over 10k real facebook likes on the fan page. Anchor Text: Not varied much at all - mostly just the domain of our site which doesn't include the keyword.. All links built occured naturally with no link building on my part yet.. So what do you think - will this strategy set this site on its way to the top? More needed? Less needed? General thoughts.. And they're basing their new ad campaign off this. What do you think? Bing results are actually pretty solid, and they were the first to give webmasters the link disavow tool, maybe they are ahead of the game except that G got there first and has the brand recognition. Quote: A Bing spokesperson tells WebProNews, “Although most people identify themselves as Google searchers, an independent study commissioned by Microsoft Corp. shows people chose Bing Web search results over Google nearly 2-to-1 in blind comparison tests. Given those findings, Bing decided it is time to let people see for themselves that there is a better option in search.” “Beginning today, America can click and choose which Web search results it prefers by participating in the Bing It On Challenge, accessible via BingItOn.com,” he adds. “Based on research that indicates people prefer Bing Web search results over Google, Bing is inviting people nationwide to come and see for themselves with an online test designed to show that the quality of Bing’s Web search results has surpassed Google’s.” http://www.webpronews.com/bing-says-...google-2012-09 They made the test public.. http://www.bingiton.com/ | sad days indeed Sep 7th 2012, 15:52 when i first came to bhw i subscribed to a theory that paid members where more trust worthy ie donors vips ect, the more time i spent on bhw over the last 4/5 yrs the more i found this isnt true. i learned trust isnt about your rank post count or how many stars you have its defined by the person you are. but also , the ends that people will go to to smile at you while behind your back they will blatantly try and rip you off [ scam you ] only this week a bhw donor member tried to buy my service with a group buy, i was lucky enough to see it coming , yet because this user was caught and rightly banned , my service was attacked, links i advertise in my sig for other respected service sellers attacked , my youtube videos defaced with nasty vile coments about me and my partner and all because i caught a member who was going to scam me. sad times my friends when you work hard, do the best you can to give something and not over charge for it, bust your ass to make it work well, then have these jackasses try and screw you over, but because you beat them to the punch attack what you have tried to build. sad days indeed. | Increase in SERP for local keyword Sep 7th 2012, 15:48 Hi, guys! I first want to thank BHW for everything it has done for me. In the past 9 months, I have been making money with local SEO thanks to a few success stories and WSO's I downloaded from here. I have one client, a plastic surgeon, who pays me just under $2k monthly to do SEO on his site. The problem is, I have been stagnant at position 5 for the entire 8 months of working for him. I also redesigned his site with a template I found, and I've recently made youtube videos to help with promotion. He seems very pleased with my work, but him being at position 5 for so long scares me. I promised him that I could get him to position 1. I know that wasn't the best idea, but I believed(and still believe) that I can deliver on that promise. I've bought some .gov links from here, as well as a web 2.0 link pyramid from fiverr. How can I get my client to a higher position on the first page? I'm starting to look for new clients, and I want to use him as a reference. Any ideas? I seem to have gotten to the position I'm at strictly based on my onpage optimization. Any help would be great, and again I thank BHW and all its members for my success! | - I have £1,500 to invest...Want to earn £1,000 per month! What would you do? Sep 7th 2012, 15:42 Hi my name is Ste, I am from the UK and have £1,500 to invest into something or a few things that make at least £1,000 per month. I have read numerous threads and post over the years but have never implemented anything into making money online. The first hurdle most fail at is investment, the majority of ideas or methods need some sort of cash injection for hosting, websites, software, advertising etc. I don't have that problem so I should find a way. My skills are website design, graphic design and marketing. I would not want to offer web design services but could easily use my skills. I know basic SEO and have though about trying to get 10 clients at £99 per month = £1,000 but its easier said than done. But maybe £1,500 of google ads, facebook ads and a bit of email marketing would achieve my goal? Or totally different direction? Lead generation? Or CPA? I have interest in CPA or even Content Locking and YouTube or other ways? Appreciate replys, Ste. :) If you had £1,500, what would you do? .......... | Youtube ads gone mobile? Changes a lot in my opinion, MORE MONEY | Hey Sep 7th 2012, 15:15 Hello am new in this forum....hope i enjoy my stay | Adsense on one page service website Sep 7th 2012, 14:46 Hello, I'm planning on releasing a web site with a service which will try to solve some particular problem which visiting users should have (traffic should consist mostly out of users who will be very interested in solving that particular problem). Out there are similar services for such problem, but with different means of solving it: downloadable software, paid online services, upload-download schemes. Mine will be different - users will enter required information and as a result will get some kind of information back (it might look like google: one page for user's input, another one for results). And this is where I see a problem - too little content. Sure, there will be some text: service's description, instructions on how to use it and get results out of it, but nothing more. The thing is - the service itself is a content and not some text, pictures, etc. Will it be possible to put adsense on such site? Any good alternatives? Any good software affiliates networks? | Neede Adwords Coupon, please Sep 7th 2012, 14:42 I started out my website and don't have money to invest in AdWords. Please help me with coupon! Thank you | Uglies = Full Time Scammer... Sep 7th 2012, 14:30 Yesterday I saw a thread on here about Uglies trying to scam someone out of a few hundred bucks: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackha...khat-user.html He made right with this guy but he lied about what brought him to months without contact with the OP. Uglies said his "wife" just had a baby, was retaining water after the babies birth, then had congestive heart failure, and now has skin cancer. That's a pretty wild claim to begin with but the blatant lie is just the day before he had me wire him some money to his "girlfriend" who has a different last name as him but lives at the same residence as him. That's only the very small beginning of this guys trail of lies. I was told by Wiz to not post any personal info on Uglies so it's going to be hard to post proof since it all surrounds this guys real name. I'll try and do my best to explain what's going on and Wiz can tell me if it's okay to post the links I already sent him or not. I emailed OP of the other thread and asked for the guys name since he wrote his initials and they were different from the guy I was dealing with via email. OP sent me his full name and sure enough it was way different from what I had. I first did a Whois of the domain I was getting emails from and I found the name that was given to OP was the name on the Whois and the address on the Whois was the address where I sent money. So now I had a match. Clearly I was being lied to about his name. OP suggested I do a Google search of this guy and let me just say WOW. I'll outline all of that below just like I outlined to Wiz but I'll remove the links until Wiz tells me whether it's okay to post them or not since they contain his personal info. Before I start, I should point out, I don't care about the few bucks I lost. The thread isn't about me getting my money back. This thread is about a known con artist who's conned people out of at least $30,000 in the past few years...probably closer to double or triple that. This guy is on parole for being a scam artist and he's among our midst trying to scam more people. He only got $75 out of me but I'm worried about when he goes for his new big scam and rips off BHW for tens of thousands of dollars. This guy is a REAL danger. He's not the normal BHW scam artist. This guy is a seasoned veteran with a terrible track record. He must be banned immediately. On to the email I sent Wiz: I saw this thread today: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackha...khat-user.html and I can vouch that this guy is indeed a scam artist. And a MAJOR one. I hired him to get me some Pay-Per-Call leads this week and today my account was suspended for suspected fraudulent activity. I found two other people on this site that had the same experience with this guy and having their Pay-Per-Call accounts suspended. Then I found a ripoff report that put the pieces together of how this guy gets leads for other peoples Pay-Per-Call accounts: http://www.ripoffreport.com/employer...-use-f046d.htm Basically he puts out tons of help wanted ads looking for mystery callers and then when someone like me places an order with him for calls he sends the number to his new recruits and tells them exactly what to do and say only he doesn't vary the script I guess and the companies catch on and ban the person buying the leads. Then he doesn't pay his recruits even though he requests that we pay him up front. I found a ton of help wanted ads that validate this ripoff report story. http://www.oodle.com/profile/wenrac/66081647/ That's only the beginning. I knew something was up when Uglies told this other user today that his wife had skin cancer...because just yesterday I Western Unioned him money and that money was wired to his "girlfriend". Girlfriend and wife? Uh, huh... But wait, it gets better. He lied to me about his name. His email comes from (removed) when really his name is (removed) as the OP of the SL thread stated. (Removed) confirmed to me that he is Uglies on BHW. But his website, Wenrac.com is registered to (Removed). When you Google (Removed) you find all kinds of terrible stuff. I mean message boards full of information on the scams this guy has pulled over the last ten years. There's even a Facebook profile created by people he's scammed: (link removed due to personal information) So far I've found a police report that lists 3 counts of GTA: (link removed due to personal information) He's an extreme racist who started a "habitat for humanity" type organization for only whites, a whites only church, and has propaganda all over the place spewing his racism: (link removed due to personal information) You can view more on his racism here: (link removed due to personal information) He started a scam to "give away his house" and you can read pages of those details here: (link removed due to personal information) The Habitat for Humanity type organization I was talking about earlier, ended up being a complete scam. He scammed at least 11 people out of thousands of dollars each for a total of at least $27,500: (news story link removed due to personal information) The Facebook page I listed above is for people he scammed with a motorcycle business. You can see some of their stories at that link. Basically he would offer to repair motorcycles and then never return them. There are tons of people there saying he stole bikes, or stole thousands of dollars. All in all, Uglies is a HUGE scam artist. One of the biggest I've seen to date, and I've seen plenty of scam artists around this forum unfortunately. This guy HAS to be banned immediately before he tries scamming others on here. This guy is a full time scam artist. He won't deal is $100 scams. He'll take this group for $100,000 in a matter of months. | New Adsense site ..
